JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the quality control technician, the quality controller assesses compliance with quality criteria, to ensure that products, processing and sanitation methods, personnel and facilities conform to prescribed standards.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out a pre-operational inspection, before the start of each day’s production, to ensure that cleanliness standards are met and that workplaces do not represent a contamination hazard for the product;
- Using various technical tools, sample and verify the physical condition of the product at different stages of processing, packaging, labeling and storage. Accounting data;
- Inspect machinery, equipment and production areas on a daily basis to ensure compliance with standards set by management;
- Ensure regular calibration, maintenance and cleaning of measuring equipment to maintain accuracy.
- Perform essential control tests such as temperature, chlorine and salt levels, as well as ozone control to maintain the quality of production processes and respect critical parameters;
- Monitor activities and ensure employee compliance with safety standards issued by Health Canada, CFIA, HACCP, SQF;
- Complete various forms and daily reports relating to quality control and sanitation;
- Train employees and provide technical support to foremen and team leaders in all departments on standards and regulations relating to quality and food safety;
- Detect and communicate any non-conformity. Suggest corrective actions;
- Comply with internal company policies, instructions and workplace safety policies and contribute to accident prevention;
- Create harmonious conditions for a suitable climate;
Perform all other related duties and be available for any other position as requested by an immediate supervisor.
